Jack’d review: how good is this popular hookup app for gay guys?

If you’re a single gay dude looking for a quick hookup, there are quite a few apps that can help you get what you want – and one of those is Jack’d. Jack’d is a hookup app created exclusively for gay guys, and we love it. Over the last month, I tried out the app and tested all of its features, both the free ones and the pro account ; so today I’m condensing all of my findings into a concise article, so you can decide whether it’s the app for you.

Whatever you’re into and whatever you’re looking for, Jack’d will become an indispensable tool for finding it. Search filters allow users to search a huge number of tags and find exactly what they like, whether it’s kinky stuff, big burly bears, or older guys. Jack’d is great for whatever kind of relationship you’re looking for: you can find quick hookups, but also long-term relationships if you look in the right place, and as long as you’re open and honest about your expectations.

Jack’d review: how it works

Jack’d is very easy to use, that’s one of its main advantages as opposed to some websites with more features. To get started meeting other guys on Jack’d, just open up the app and cruise through your homepage. The app will open up to the “discover” page, where you can chat to guys from all over the world. You can also scroll to see gay guys nearby if you’re looking to hook up with someone fast, and scroll to the last tab to see the search bar, where you can use tons of different filters to find the guy of your dreams.

When you find a guy that sparks your interest, simply click on his profile and choose whether to send him a message, a “wave” (sort of like a Facebook “like”), or add him to your favourites. Unless you have a pro account and are using stealth mode, you will appear on his “looks” page.

How to register on Jack’d

Registering on Jack’d is super easy: the first step is to download the app from either the App Store if you’re an iPhone user, or Google Play for Androids. Once you’ve done so, simply open up the app and click on “create profile”. All Jack’d needs is an email address, birthday and profile photo before you can start scrolling and sending users “waves”.

Jack’d review: features and functionalities

To kick off the next part of my Jack’d review, I’d like to go over some features on the Jack’d app, both for paid and free accounts. Here’s a little look at my personal favourite functionalities.

Waves

First off, the “wave” function. This is a really cool little feature that allows users to send a quick alert to someone they’re potentially interested in. This function is much beloved by those who are a little shy, like myself, and would rather just let others know that they’re interested without having to send a message. If the user to wave to is interested in you, they’ll either wave back or strike up a conversation – it’s that easy!

Jack’d Match

The “Match” function is another one I really like: it’s sort of like Tinder in that you can swipe left or right on other users profile pictures depending on whether you’re interested in them. This means you only have physical appearance to go on, which is quite fun, and adds a “love at first sight” kind of dimension to your hookups.

Simply swipe right if someone piques your interest, and left if they’re not your type. If they swiped right on your picture, you’ll be matched and can start chatting immediately!

Advanced search filters

Something I really love about Jack’d as opposed to many other hookup apps is the diversity in the different search filters, and just how specific you can get when searching for a partner. If you have very specific tastes, then you can set things such as height, weight, age range and more, which allows you to hone your scope to only your exact type. Of course, this means you’ll see fewer guys around your area and may be limited to talking to guys further away, which is nice too.

When it comes to the kind of guys that are on Jack’d, there’s a ton of guys using the app at any given time. Whatever your type, you’ll find him on Jack’d: with over 10 million users worldwide, there’s something to please all men.

In my time using the app, I was pleasantly surprised to see how many men were open to chatting, meeting up and even getting spicy in the DMs. The men on Jack’d aren’t shy and don’t hold back, so you’ll have no issue finding satisfaction! There’s a high likelihood that any man you message will at least message you back, not to say these dudes are easy, but they’re not exactly playing hard to get either.

Overall, I’d say there’s a huge variety of different kinds of men on Jack’d, and they’re all very open to lots of different things. Whether you’re looking to find a hookup, a date, or even just a spicy video chat, it shouldn’t take too long to find.

As we work our way to the end of this Jack’d review, the best way to sum up is to have a look at the pros and cons. Here’s a quick list of what I liked best and what I was less impressed with.

Jack’d review: my personal experience and takeaway

When it comes to personal experience, I had fewer interactions than I did on some other sites, like GaysTryst for example (read my GaysTryst review next). However, I did get quite a few dates, and spoke to a lot of cool guys. There was a slightly smaller community than on some other apps and sites, so it took me a little longer to find a partner, but the dates and hookups I had were a lot of fun!

Overall my experiences were varied : dates, hookups, video chatting, Jack’d opens up a whole world of possibilities and matches you with loads of different types of guys.

My final verdict on Jack’d

Jack’d is an A+ app, and my experience over the last month was really fun. In spite of the smaller community than some platforms, the guys on Jack’d are all really fun, and the variety is awesome.
