How does Payment Work on OkCupid?

To get the ball rolling with OkCupid Basic or OkCupid Premium, you’ll need either a bank card or a PayPal account. Click on “Subscribe” on the OkCupid Premium page, and choose the payment method you’d like to proceed with.

To pay by card, all you need to do is input your card information, and if you want to, save your information for later. Your subscription will be renewed for the amount of time you’re subscribed for, however you’re able to cancel at any time. The checkout is secure, and you’ll be charged in dollars rather than euros or pounds.

My Personal Experience on OkCupid

I couldn’t very well do an in-depth OkCupid review without talking about my own, personal experience getting dates and finding hookups.

I started out just looking for hookups: I set my profile to say I was looking for something quick, and I was not interested in monogamy. This first period of time was the one where I had the least engagement: most people looking for no-strings attached fun go for websites like BeNaughty for example (you can read my full BeNaughty review here). Although I did get a few messages back, very few of those actually turned into hookups. I think I got about three hookups in that time, and one of those wanted more, and I had to let her down easy.

After that, I set my profile to say I was looking for a relationship, and at that point I got a lot more engagement. It seems that most people on OkCupid may not be looking for “the one”, but they do want the possibility of a relationship, however short that may be. I went on a bunch of dates, and a few of those dates turned into second dates, and sometimes into sex. It was overall pretty nice, and I actually think dating was more fun than just hooking up.

I also spent a lot of time using OkCupid as a simple sexting app, just sending steamy messages to hot girls all over the world, which was a lot of fun. The possibilities are pretty wide when it comes to what you can do on OkCupid, and overall my time using the site was a success – I shan’t be ending my subscription any time soon.
